Two Canadians who were on the Gaza blockade boat the Tahrir will embark on a national speaking tour to address Canada’s role in the Gaza blockade. David Heap and Ehab Lotayef will give a firsthand account of their capture at sea in nine Canadian cities, beginning February 15, 2012.
David Heap is a linguistics professor at the University of Western Ontario, while Ehab Lotayef is an engineer, poet and writer from Montreal.
Both David and Ehab were on board the Canadian Boat, the Tahrir, when it was seized by the Israeli navy in international waters. They were held in an Israeli prison for six days.
